The Bed & Breakfast Palacete Alijó deepened its connection with the Douro and the history of the oldest demarcated and regulated region in the world, providing an experience that takes the visitor and the guest back to the time and space of the Baron Forrester.

This is the only Pousada of Portugal in the Douro Demarcated Region. Its name is a tribute to Joseph James Forrester, English businessman, living in Portugal during the XIX century, who in 1855 received from King D. Fernando II the title of baron, for his dedication to the study and appreciation of Douro and Port Wine.
