Quinta Nova Nossa Senhora do Carmo
At Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo we believe that nature is the genesis of great wines. Harvesting at the estate is “tailor-made”, respecting the natural ripening of the grapes in each of the 41 traditional plots, with the aim of achieving extraordinary wines.
Having been owned by the Portuguese Royal House until 1725, it became a “new farm” by joining two farms into one. During the 18th and 19th centuries, several Portuguese families lived here and gave life to the vine and wine, to fruit orchards, to the watermill next to the old olive grove and to the stream that crosses the farm, at an important time in the agriculture of the Douro.
